Dear Seafoodies
Yes, friends, another one! Sorry, Brenda, but our seafoodie family and others were so kind as to send in their nominations that Bute Street Seafoodie is now a finalist in the Eat Game Awards! And to be one of the top three that makes it to the judges' chamber, it's now out to the public vote, and every vote counts!
But before we get to that please can I wish everyone the best for 2022 (6 weeks in, it can't go without saying, but I am infamous for a certain take on timeliness!) and a warm welcome to recent new subscribers - thank you for coming aboard.
For us two in the Bute Street Seafoodie kitchen it's been, gratifyingly, much about the food so far this year. Artoo is giving a new fish-based food a go (he clearly has some food intolerances) and I've been working on a number of new recipes (for humans). We had a bit of a setback in the last week of January with me contracting COVID and, by the time I was in the clear, Artoo had managed to acquire an injury in one of his front two legs (pretty sure it's the left one - shoulder I suspect). However, he's on the mend and, as we write, we're virus-free and back on five and a half legs between the pair of us. I think a vet visit is likely the inevitable path to resolution for our team's residual half-leg.
Now, let's get this awards malarkey out of the way. It's simple: please vote! Thank you to those who nominated Bute Street Seafoodie and thank you even more if you have already cast your subsequent vote. It's very exciting to have got this far in the competition but it would be such a privilege to make it to the awards ceremony. Voting takes less than half a minute but there are only a few days to go before voting closes... If you don't vote someone else might win! Boo!
