Physical visits- update

We received an update from our Local Authority earlier this week to state that their guidance has not changed and will remain in place until at least the 30th of June.

What does this mean for visits?

We will still honour all booked visits. However, any physical visits that are booked can take place either in the garden/patio (weather permitting) or the Pod. All pod visit bookings will continue to take place in the Pods.

If you have booked a physical visit and are intending to have this on the patio/garden, please arrive 30 mins early to complete an LFD test.

What is the Home doing to reduce the risk of Covid entering the building?

We have increased PCR testing in the Home and have introduced a new system to ensure all visits are tracked effectively. We continue to follow all PPE guidance and social distancing rules within the Home.

What can I do to help the Home reduce the risk of Covid entering the building?

Our main concern for outside visitors is for everyone to follow our policy and procedures. We have had some instances where visitors have not followed our PPE instructions, which has led to the visit being stopped immediately.

We would like to reiterate that it is extremely important that PPE is worn at all times for any physical visits. This is crucial to ensure we protect all of our residents to the best of our ability.

Any failures to follow our policy and procedures will lead to a stop in physical visits for these visitors. However, pod visits will continue to be offered so that you can continue to see your loved ones.

Our ducklings have hatched!

As mentioned in one of our previous newsletters, we recently welcomed a few new residents to our Home. Within days, our ducklings hatched and are meeting our residents around the Home!

The ducklings have been delighted to meet our residents and we have seen a lot of smiles and laughs when they have been playing and stroking them.

We really enjoy having the ducklings in the Home and so do the residents. You may even be lucky enough to meet them yourselves during a visit if they are in the area.

E-MAR system in full swing

Our new E-MAR system is now fully in place and in action. We are extremely happy with the system so far. It offers us a much higher level of oversight to ensure all medications are distributed effectively and safely.

As well as this, it is much clearer, easier to navigate and creates an audit trail that we can follow from the first day of using the system.

We are thrilled to have this system in our Home, as this is a huge benefit to all of our residents.

Thank you once again for joining our mailing list. We hope to see you all again soon and stay safe!
