As European Horizon 2020 Project, Build-in-Wood pursues the goal of making wood the common choice of material for the construction of multi-storey buildings.
Our Consortium consists of 21 partners coming from 11 countries, covering the entire wood value chain. Within 48 months of project duration, we will innovate the way we build by developing new techniques, optimising materials and processes, connecting professionals and creating new business models.
To showcase our vision, we cooperate with six cosmopolitan “Early Adopter Cities” scattered over Europe: Leading the way into a future of green building.
Early Adopter Cities
Selected European Cities will take a leading role in the project, attending workshops and closely collaborating with the Consortium to intensify the use of wood in both, their urban core and surrounding municipalities.
The project splits up into 10 work-packages, each of them addressing a different aspect of building with wood - find out what we've done so far and what we're currently working on.
Before COVID-19 a major Consortium meeting with all partners was held in London, presenting first results, planning the next steps and visiting exemplary multi-storey wood buildings in the city.
In each newsletter edition, we will present you two of our ConsortiumMembers:
