Announcements

Congratulations to Caitlin Banks on her F31!

Caitlin was recently awarded the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Individual Predoctoral Fellowship to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research from the NIH NINDS for her project, "The Long-Latency Reflex: A Biomarker for Functional Impairment Following Stroke." Caitlin is a PhD candidate in Dr. Carolynn Patten's lab. The project is sponsored by Dr. Patten and Dr. Monica Perez. Congratulations and we're excited to see what comes out of this exciting research!

Apply for the Richard and Joy Dorf Engineering Fellowship Award

This fellowship award for College of Engineering graduate students gives out four $1000 awards per year to support graduate education. Send your applications to Alin Wakefield at amwakefield@ucdavis.edu by Sept. 25 to apply. More information can be found here.

Send in nominations for the keynote speaker at the 2020 BMEGG Research Symposium

Anyone is welcome and encouraged to send in a nomination for the keynote speaker at this year's symposium (Friday, May 29, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the UC Davis Conference Center). We're looking for someone with outstanding research, and we are placing a special emphasis on their dedication to mentorship, outreach, and career development. Share your achievements for the "Intro to Grad School" presentation

Did you receive a fellowship or participate in professional development (Designated Emphasis, Big Bang, FUTURE, LFTF, PFTF, etc.) since you started graduate school? We are collecting a list of current BMEGG students' achievements for the "Intro to Grad School" presentation to give new students a point of contact for applying. Please email Amy Becker with your professional development activities/awards/fellowships!
