Mitakuyapi - Friends and Relatives, |
As the holidays are upon us let us remember all those who may not have family or may not have access to their family. Please keep them in your prayers and all victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking. I would like to take this time to ask for a present for the women and children in Pathfinder Center. Here is a list of things to consider: Housecoats, slippers, gift cards, gift baskets of personal hygiene, blankets, throws, warm pajamas, gloves, scarves, and children’s toys for ages 0 to 12 years boys/girls. Anything else that you can think of would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me at wiconi@midstatesd.net for the shipping address. |

On the 17th, two staff traveled to Sioux Falls to participate in a Mock Trial and become expert witnesses in State and federal courts. Before attending this mock trial both staff had to participate in three online Zoom training’s. This training was provided by the Center for the Prevention of Child Maltreatment, the University of South Dakota School of Health Sciences, and the SD Network. On the 20th two staff traveled to the Rosebud reservation to do Cyber Safety Training for two schools. |
The staff made the presentations interactive so students could participate and have fun while learning about safety. In the afternoon we did a presentation for the community on Cyber Safety and how to keep your child safe. |
On the 21st our staff presented on Sex Trafficking and Trauma Informed Care for advocates, law enforcement, court staff and schools. Two training courses were done. One in the morning and the same repeated in the afternoon. |

We would like to thank the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Court/Victim Services program for inviting us. It was truly an honor. |

2nd Annual Online Auction Coming Soon! |
As a reminder, in January we will be holding our Second Online Auction to raise funds for Pathfinder Center. We are asking for donations for our auction such as gift cards, gift baskets, gas cards, jewelry, beaded items, purses, or anything that you think people will bid on. We appreciate you and thank you for your support in all we do. |

As we mentioned in last month's newsletter, Pathfinder Center is posting four 8' x 8' billboards to give notices to those with intentions of buying Native women or children, especially during hunting season. We will also be posting these messages in our local casinos, as well. Do you want to help? If you live close to a tribal casino ask them if you can hang up one of our signs and let us know. |

Lower Brule Sioux Tribal (LBST) Chairman Clyde Estes is shown here (on left) along with Cody Russell, Vice-chair and Lisa Heth on the right. Thank you to the LBST Council for their support for Pathfinder Center putting up the signs. |

Congratulations to Bobbie Ziegler, from Pierre, SD, who won the Baby Yoda water bottle with a Bluetooth speaker on the bottom. She was very happy that it was customized with her name on it, too. This water bottle was custom-designed and created at Pathfinder Center. Want to know more? Contact us today. |

God bless each one of you and please keep Pathfinder Center staff and survivors in your prayers. Thank you all for your support in helping survivors to heal from their traumas and find their God-given purpose. Sincerely, Lisa Heth Pathfinder Center, Executive Director |
