London, England - Pat O’Toole, Course Director and Lecturer in Acting at Rose Bruford College, has invited me to the S-Word Symposium in London next month to discuss and demonstrate some practical character building and self-awareness work that I've been exploring with her foundation year students. The S-Word is an international collaborative research project and an initiative of The Stanislavsky Research Centre. It was founded to explore the influence and legacy of Konstantin Stanislavsky and his work upon contemporary theatre and performance. Academics and theatre practitioners from London and across the U.K., Europe, North America and Australia will also be presenting at the one day event on April 20th at SouthBank University.
Sidcup, England -The Rose Bruford graduating cast of A Vampire Story by Moira Buffini expressed their gratitude for having Actor Care throughout their rehearsal process. Actor Care group sessions occurred once a week and were designed to increase resilience and awareness of authentic connections to character and, enhance boundaries between actor and character. One to One sessions were also conducted for cast members wanting to overcome personal challenges that prevented them from actualizing aspects of their character. I share the students gratitude for this rewarding and enriching experience. The show will run at Greenwich Theatre in London March 9-12.
Toronto, Canada - I'm honoured to be part of the impressive creative team that has been assembled for the Canadian premiere of the play WalledIN by Al Bernstein. The project is the inaugural selection for Equity Showcase's Good Ideas Initiative which is part of their 60th Anniversary Celebration. It also marks Equity's Showcase's return to the stage, presenting their own productions. As Actor Care Specialist I will support the casts resilience and emotional capacity in the context of character development.
