Junior Tennis League Sunday junior tennis leagues are up and running with all courts being utilised by our 17 junior league teams. We currently have 1 orange ball team, 5 Greenball teams, 5 13U mixed teams, 2 15U teams, 2 18U teams and the boys and girls junior state league teams representing our club. 12 of those teams are currently in the top 4 in their leagues. Friday Afternoons Friday night match play and performance pennant squad have been very popular with large numbers attending both sessions. With Danny cooking up a storm on the BBQ and parents hanging around for a drink, making Friday afternoons at the tennis club enjoyable for all. |

Hardcourt Renovation The renovation of the hardcourt bay (courts 6 - 8) in front of the clubhouse has now been completed. The courts were subject to cracking and as such, we decided to grind the courts back to their base, install a fibreglass screen over the top and re-lay the courts. Hopefully this will mean an end to cracks forming in the courts. This is a significant investment in our facility in excess of $32,000 and thanks to Ken McIntosh for project managing. |

State League Update Our State League teams have started strongly with the women having won 4 of their first 6 games. The men are unbeaten having had 5 wins and a draw to start the season. |

Know Your Board Member – Carolyn Burton I am the Club Administrator, and the main role of this position is compiling the agenda and taking minutes at the monthly Board meetings. I joined Henman Park about 30 years ago after meeting my husband and club member Ashley Burton. We have three children who all play tennis. Two of them, Matt and Hayley are in HPTC's State League teams. Cam, the youngest, has also played for Hensman. I have played in many pennant teams over the years and made many life long friends. I enjoy travelling, pilates, keeping fit, reading and a coffee or wine with family and friends. My favourite tennis player is Rafa and my favourite shot is the volley. A highlight of my time at Hensman has been the dinner at the Pagoda, the evening festivities after a pennant match courtesy of Mark Hlawaty's pizza runs and watching my children develop from the junior ranks. I'm available to chat to members should you have any topic you would like addressed at Board meetings or simply to say hello. |
