The Mulled Wine and Poetry was such a fun night we are thinking of having another one again soon.

The SIMPLY SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL has hit a snag as we have not been able to get sufficient actors to complete the roles in all of the plays for August.  We are going to try again for the end of November when the weather is more conducive.

In the meantime, think about having a go and contact me at tepukerep01@gmail.com.

If we are not able to perform all 8 plays we will create a VARIETY SHOW including some of the short plays and other local talent that is sure to please.

CHAIR SPONSORSHIP:  When the theatre had a seating upgrade several years ago it was decided to offer to our Theatre community Chair Sponsorship to recognise past and present patrons of Te Puke Repertory.  We have now decided that each chair will have an engraved label attached to acknowledge the sponsorship.  There about about 30 seats still available and if you would like to buy a chair or two to acknowledge someone special or a family please contact tepukerep01@gmail.com.  The cost of each chair sponsorship is $100.

ANECDOTES FROM THE PAST:

My father lived in Gisborne Road and became involved mainly as a custodian andbackstage hand. He enjoyed wiring the telephones. For the winter shows he wouldalways light the pot belly fire. Once there was a bird nest in the chimney and theaudience had to take a break from all the smoke.

When I directed `Alibaba` in 1988 I invited the cast to bring a guest or two to the dress Rehearsal. The word got around and a whole Crowd, more than 100, turned up
for a free show. It was a real shock. We weren’t ready for them but we coped and it set us up for a great season.
