On Saturdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in November, we have our Kids' Sewing Club! We'll help you from start to finish with your project. There are lots of patterns to choose from if you don't have one, and plenty of fabric and notions as well! |

Learn how to make strips of hairpin lace, and piece them together. You can make all sorts of items using this technique. Scarves, blankets, and even sweaters! Understand the basics in macramé knots, the square, gathering, half knots and more. You'll also see how to make a macramé plant hanger! |

Flannel Lounge Pants Part 1 & 2 Get cozy and warm with flannel this season! We’ll show you how to make a pair of high quality pj/lounge pants. The flannel is included in the price of class. Part 1 offered Fri, November 3, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Part 2 offered Fri, November 10, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or Parts 1 & 2 offered Sat, November 11, 1 to 4 p.m Macramé Plant Hanger with Joanna Have a plant that doesn't have a proper spot at home? Or know of someone who could use a plant hanger? Even if you don't know how to macramé, this project will give you the skills you need to start! Monday, November 6 and 13 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. Sewing Machine 101 Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop, or bring yours from home. We will take you through the basics of machine operation and safety, and guide you toward sewing a project. This class is great for ages 10 & up (or younger with an adult present). Offered Tue, November 7 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Offered Tue, December 12 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sewing Machine Classes at Central Library Monday, November 13. Learn how to sew! Working with Dress Patterns You've bought a sewing pattern for a dress, and opened the package. What's with all the tissue paper inside? We can teach you what to do with your pattern materials, and how to adjust it to fit you just right: Tuesday, November 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 4 p.m. Create with Josefina Love working with Josefina? So do we. Come and create something with her! Thursday, November 16 and 30, 4 to 6 p.m. Bring your ideas, join your creativity with hers, and make something new! |

Working with Dress Forms Learn how padding a dress form can help you put together outfits and understand the fit of your clothing. Professional measurements will be included. Tuesday, November 21, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. Hand-Knotted Prayer / Meditation Beads Did you know that regular contemplative prayer and meditation can change your brain? Researchers are still figuring out how, but the benefits are good! On Friday, November 17, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, November 25, 2 to 4:00 p.m. join us as we use nylon cording to create a couple different varieties of prayer/meditation beads. Suitable for any faith, stringed beads make excellent tools for centering and meditative practices. Mini Maker Faire Rochester at the Riverside Convention Center This will be our 3rd year at the Mini Maker Faire! SewGreen@Rochester will have sewing demonstrations, and hands on participation with sewing machines! Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 E Main St, Rochester, NY 14604. Saturday, November 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hairpin Lace Loom with Joanna Learn how to use the hairpin lace loom with Joanna! This was said to be invented in the 16th century by Catherine of Aragon. You’ll see how to use yarn or crochet cotton to make strips of this lace as well as how to piece them together. Offered Mon, November 20 and 27 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m Rub-off a Pattern - Parts 1 & 2 Do you have a garment that you love to wear? It's the perfect fit, or drape, and you just can't find another quite like it? Don't despair! You don't have to take it apart to duplicate it. Bring it in, and we will help you recreate it without tearing apart your favorite piece of clothing. This class will be taught in two parts: Tuesday, November 28 & December 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. Shop Closed - Happy Thanks Giving! Remember... Every Saturday is Scrappy Saturday! Our small scrappy bags stuffed with scraps and rolls of fabric and/or unmarked balls of yarn are only $1 all day (regularly $3 on weekdays). Bring your own grocery-sized tote and stuff it full for only $5 (regularly $10). Stop by and fill a bag this Saturday, and every Saturday! |

Join us on our Monday Mindful Walks from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Walk with us every Monday morning through our beautiful, historic Susan B. Anthony Neighborhood. Come along and see the architecture, the public artworks, the trees and gardens, and say hello with us to any of our neighbors who might be out and about. |
