💡 Hosting Scottish Wildlife Trust & SCDN 💡 |
This month we had the opportunity to host the Scottish Wildlife Trust and the Scottish Community Development Network (SCDN) at KPC. We presented our Local Place Plan and led a walkabout around the area to show some of the sites and projects involved. |

“Hi, my name is Gemma! I am currently studying Community Education at UWS and I'm here on student placement with the Community Learning and Development Team. I look forward to meeting everyone from the community and learning from you all”. |
We were recently joined by Tiki from Whale Arts in Wester Hailes, and a couple of other volunteers for a walkabout of the local area! It was a great opportunity to identify some issues like fly tipping and to visit some great projects like Elizabeth Street Garden and the Kingston DIY Skatepark. We are going to start our weekly walkabouts back up again on Friday mornings. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page Because We Say So for more details, we would love you to join us! |

The Asylum Seeker Housing Project came to give a presentation about asylum seeker housing rights at our New Scots’ group. It was very informative and useful. It was also a great introduction to ASH for many of the group who hope to continue to work with them. |

A free Baby & Toddler group is starting at KPC on Thursday 2nd February from 10–11:30am. All bumps, babies, toddlers and their parents or carers are welcome! We are also looking for volunteers to help host the sessions. This involves making sure the space is ready for the group like setting out chairs and preparing tea and coffee. We are hoping to establish a pool of volunteers and have 2 ‘hosts’ per week so that it works out as a monthly commitment. If interested, email Ellen, our Community Learning and Development worker, at ellen@kinningparkcomplex.org |
