Home Internationals

July 27, 2019 | John Dodsworth

Solomon Hewitt (17) and William Tate (16) of Christchurch Rowing Club represented England in the junior double-sculls event at the Home International Regatta on Saturday 27th July at Strathclyde Park, near Glasgow.

The ‘Home International Regatta’ is the annual rowing match between the ‘home nations' of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Events are held for both men and women at junior (18) and senior levels. The race has been held since 1962 and each country takes it in turn to host the regatta. Alvin was very passionate about helping underprivileged youngsters get into the sport of rowing, and this fund has been set up in his name to continue his work. This is at the request of his family, who will be holding a collection at his funeral.

Robin's Boston Rowing Marathon for the RNLI

On September 15th I will be rowing the Boston Marathon in a single scull, a 50km head race from Lincoln to Boston. For me it will be a huge physical challenge but nothing compared to what many volunteers do each week. Please give what you can afford, not for me, but for these amazing people of the RNLI. Thank you.
