I would like to thank the many visitors we had attend the Nova Luxe event on June 1st. Press, brokers, buyers, and interested onlookers were all able to see, hear, experience and learn about Nova Luxe. John Zappone from United Yacht sales had this to say about the event:
“The Nova Luxe [-powered] Aquila performed better than I expected this past Saturday on the demo ride. I'm on a lot of boats working in the yacht sales business and this was truly an impressive performance for your Nova Luxe and Torqeedo team.
I have to admit, even though I have been enthused for your project since first hearing about it almost two years ago, there has been speculation on my part if the mass of the boat, being a flybridge catamaran would be able to maneuver against wind and current.
Happy to confirm she did and did so very well. She has demonstrated that she is a capable competitor to the power catamaran market. Incredible to be on that large of boat and powered with only solar [and batteries]. What a wonderful choice to offer our customers.”
The herculean task of building the first electric yacht would not have been possible without client #1, Peter Weil. Unlike many who purchase yachts in this price range, Peter backed up his vision with elbow grease, and lots of it. He took an active role in every aspect of the build from design to physical construction. Nova Luxe advised, assisted, tied up loose ends and learned from Peter's prior experience in countless subject areas. Only after completing build #1 with Peter can I say that Nova Luxe is fully prepared to repeat the process for clients who simply want to purchase an electric yacht. Thank you, Peter!
At the onset of the project I asked the folks at Aquila if they would build the next electric yacht at their build location. This would save future clients hundreds of thousands of dollars and bring the price point to within 20% of the diesel version.
The response at the time was: "let's wait and see if it works."
Nova Luxe has proved that it works. Aquila is not offering the electric version of the Aquila 44. Why not? You'll have to ask MarineMax.
Other manufacturers of power cats have seen the Nova Luxe-powered 44' electric yacht and preparations are being made for their models to be offered direct from the factory as electric. Our hope is for the Nova Luxe name to represent well-built electric yachts from multiple manufacturers. Customers can be confident a Nova Luxe electric version is the gold standard in eco-friendly yachting.
For re-fits of existing yachts, Nova Luxe is evaluating potential partners in Florida to handle the entire job. This segment of the market represents the highest potential for success, as more catamarans are already in the water than are built each year.
Nova Luxe Yachts has the ability to change the world for the better. Our products pollute our world far less than traditional diesel and THEY ARE SUPERIOR.
Will you be client #2?
