And we have a record number of cities interested in the Start A Team process! 2024 is shaping up to be our BIGGEST YEAR YET! We finished 2023 with 685 of us - 30% growth from the prior year. How many charitable cheerleaders will PCA have by the end of 2024!? Maybe 750? 1,000? Place your bets when you join us in Vegas for the Sin City Classic in January;) (Yup, that’s a hint-drop. The PCA Board can finally, OFFICIALLY announce our new Treasurer, Jannine Takahashi-Crow (she/her), from Walnut Creek, CA! (Her picture’s on the website and everything!) Jannine’s charitable cheerleading history runs deep, and she brings a “wealth” of experience befitting the role of Treasurer. Professional skills and qualifications aside, she is also passionate about this family, and will nurture our still young organization and ensure our financial future is in excellent hands. We are so grateful to have her as an Officer on the PCA Board.
In just a few weeks we will begin our call for nominees for PCA Board Director positions. Director Terms are two years (beginning January 1, 2025) and the board has a maximum of 9 seats. We’re keeping them all warm for just the right humans… humans with availability and interest, skill and potential, and a broad spectrum of lived experiences that foster growth in our organization. Humans with a clear understanding of our mission, dedication to and passion for our cause, but maybe humans we haven’t met yet. Introduce yourselves to us today! David Smith splits his time between marketing for PCA, writing for @CompeteMagazine, clinical work with athletes, promoting his @StonewallPerformance and #FitWIthPride mantra, preparing to defend his PhD dissertation, and transitioning to his new job as a full time lecturer sport psychology consultant for SUNY - Oneonta!
