The World of Work

Sister-to-Sister, Inc. understands that work success is difficult to achieve.  Because knowledge is power, we share articles of interest in newsletters and news updates.  Substantial more membership-only information is available on our website as are links to hundreds of FREE courses, offered by top U.S. universities and other sources, for professional advancement.   In 2022, plans are in progress for the website to host a members-only Jobs Portal.  Until then, we will continue to post a few in news publications.  Below is an article of interest, "So Your Boss Offered You a Meaningless Promotion," published in the Harvard Business Review on November 18, 2021.

So Your Boss Offered You a Meaningless Promotion

"She's a vice president," my manager chided me in front of guests. "She just doesn't give herself credit with the title." This was after I had introduced myself as a director, which was my actual title. For months, my manager had insisted that I use the title of vice president in my email signature, my LinkedIn profile, and when introducing myself to external parties.
