| | The 2022 Art Show Thank you to all who attended the 18th Annual Bryn Du Art Show! It was beautifully received by a record-breaking number of visitors. We are so happy to have been able to share 86 fantastic works of art with so many of you! Throughout the Show, we enjoyed watching a variety of artist demonstrations, selling art works to those who found something they loved too much to leave behind, helping visitors vote for their very favorite pieces, and admiring the incredible talent alongside all of you. We look forward to bringing you another amazing show in 2023 (the entry system will open again on October 15!) but for now, we'll say thank you to all of our 2022 artists, visitors and volunteers for helping to make the show a huge success! | | |

She started with a special "Q&A" with the Licking County Community Center for 60+ Adults, held a watercolor activity for visitors of all ages during the Bryn Du Art Show, and hosted 3 open dates for the community to view her gorgeous art exhibition in the Eddie Wolfe Gallery in the Art Center. This month is the anniversary of Mrs. Alice Baxter Jones' death on April 11, 1931. Mrs. Jones, wife of John Sutphin Jones and matriarch of the arts in Granville, died at Grant hospital following an operation. Twenty years prior, Alice married John in a quiet ceremony at the Bryn Du farm and subsequently gave him two daughters, Sallie and Ginny. They joined Mrs. Jones' daughter from a previous marriage, Betty, as sisters residing at Bryn Du. Mrs. Jones was a wonderful hostess who enjoyed welcoming some of the days most renowned artists in music and theatre to Bryn Du and Granville as a whole. In addition, she was also a large supporter of “our little library”, as she called it, and saw the completion of the Jones Memorial Viaduct (at the end of Cherry Street). Upon her death she was cremated and her ashes interred in Cincinnati. |
