Welcome to THE BUZZ #3

(official newsletter for The Queanbeyan Hive)

If you missed this the first time..

here is a gentle reminder. :-)

We have 10 days left to vote.

We are up against lots of schools and established groups.

We are one of a few projects in the running that supports arts, music and culture.

If you believe Queanbeyan needs more of this type of thing please take time to vote and if you are not eligible please encourage someone else who is. (ie Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong, Bywong, Womboin residents all the way to Braidwood!)

More information is available on our website

Sat, 10 August 10am-4pm:

Queanbeyan Hive Open Day - Vote for us!

From 10am-4pm the Hive will be open with a glimpse of what we could do all the time if we get the votes to get the funding – live music, fundraising food and drinks stall, art auctions, kids’ art activities, heritage information, have your say on what the Hive should host and VOTE FOR US.

We will be there all day to help that process - which can be trying at times.

If you would like to contribute? Please let us know.

Thank you to all who attended the 1st Creative Connect session.

It was amazing to hear the stories of everyone who came along - about their connection to Queanbeyan and the region, the good works they do. Most excitingly, the first seeds of how we could all work together were sown. This series of meetings is QPRC's idea and we think it's a good one. We look forward to the next one  to build on the new connections we've already made.

Keep an eye out for the next meeting!

Sat, 17 August 12pm-7pm:

Live at the Hive:
a Buzz of Bands

Seven amazing local acts in seven hours of glory. All free, because you're worth it. All ages, all welcome.

The Create Collaborate Collective (CCC) is teaming up with the Queanbeyan Artist's Shed to run a fundraising bar and barbie out of the Reception kitchen out back of the Hive. The CCC is a relatively new not for profit incorporated association that exists to facilitate grassroots artistic events in Queanbeyan and region. The Artist's Shed has been a longtime grassroots haven for local artists of all kinds. The Hive is proud to be associated with them and every great musician who will play this epic daytime gig.

Just. Bee. There!
