Part 4 - Balance ... [so you don’t fall]
Success in all that we do, is strongly dependent on our desire: that yearning / passion / excitement that fuels our drive to achieve.
And while this wonderful energy is deeply needed, there is also the very real danger of doing too much, of becoming sooooo ‘dedicated’ that we forget all about balance...harmony... and the fulfillment of our human self.
Here then is the wisdom of the Great Masters “All is achieved in the fullness of Time”...
Realize that you have chosen to take physical incarnation in a human body, and on this planet, at this very specific point in time. And all this was done so you could fulfill not only your spiritual progress but also your human destiny [be it karma / unfulfilled desires / self-discovery etc.]...
Should you ignore your human requirements,
you will not have a strong enough foundation to sustain your
spiritual unfolding
To make matters even more ‘interesting’, this human self is not just ‘a simple one-entity’, but rather it is a complex being, made up of many different, and diverse, aspects... each of which need to be satisfied, balanced, and fulfilled... so that they can all ‘unite-as-one’ and support YOU [the whole of you, and not just the aspect you favor].
We call this ‘healing’, but you may equally see it as ‘balancing’, or - my favorite - ‘take responsibility for my duties as an Incarnate Being’.
One of my greatest teachers often said “Two legs walk the Path fast... Four legs may lag behind... but six legs must first stand still”... meaning that if you are on your own, your responsibility / duty is only to yourself.
If you are a couple, then you have to learn how to help each other... but if you should have a child, then the duties you have to that child take priority above all else.
Now, don’t get me wrong, everything you do is part of your spiritual path ... it all depends on your attitude [and your perception-response]....
As the classics say: “Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water... After enlightenment, chop wood, carry water”.
It is NOT how well you meditate / become a monk / retreat to an ashram / trip out on mushrooms ...that is the sign of true enlightenment, but simply in your own Radiance... and that is first seen in the mode of your living - are you at peace in your everyday...are you a joyful, loving, kind, supportive human being... Do you live in loving-kindness ...
If your answer is ‘Yes !’, then you are well on your way to spiritual growth... if not, then look at which parts of you still need your love, and balance that. [easy, right ?!!]
Walk this Path together in joy, in laughter, in loving playfulness... shine brightly my beloved heart brothers and sisters... Namaste...
