STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP

Putting people and communities at
the core of the Integrated Care System (ICS)

As part of the development of the Integrated Care System (ICS) in Stockport, a series of 3 workshops are being held to explore how to embed the voice of people and communities at the very heart of the governance and operation of the ICS. The workshops are being facilitated by New Local and are online and in-person.

We would like to invite ALL members of the Stockport Race Equality Partnership to take part.

Workshop 1: A diversity of approaches for a diversity of voices
Monday 28th March 10-11.30 am - Via Zoom

If people, communities and patient voices are to be put at the core of the Integrated Care system, how do you hear them? What is already in place or being planned? What innovations could be introduced to the way the ICS listens, engages and collaborates? This workshop will consider and answer these questions across the different tiers of ICS governance – strategic (system), operational (place), neighbourhood. It will consider existing methods in use at each level, aim to challenge the group to go further, and identify opportunities to pioneer additional approaches. To support this, New Local will draw on examples from elsewhere to help stimulate thinking.

Workshop 2: Listening and learning as a system

Monday 11th April 10-11.30 am – Via Zoom

National guidance indicates the importance of not only listening and engaging with people and communities but working at a system level, as providers and partners, to integrate the insights and outcomes of this activity. This workshop will help to identify what partners/providers are currently doing that works well, and could be shared, and how listening and learning as a system can become an integral rather than standalone activity.  Its aim will be to guide a way of working so that shared intelligence is retained over the long term. It will also consider what support or learning would be helpful to the ICS to support any necessary changes in culture and ways of working.

Workshop 3: Testing and learning – innovating with focus

Thursday 28th April 11 am – 1 pm – In person venue TBC

Stockport has indicated a desire to innovate and be ambitious with how it takes forward its people and communities agenda as part of the Integrated Care System, so how can the ICS move quickly to put agreed plans into action?  One or two specific areas of health and care will be identified for a test and learn approach, and this workshop will help to work through those examples to identify how to put the recommendations into practice and how to evidence
and capture the outcomes and learning.

If you would like to attend any of these workshops please contact:

GMP Public Consultation Event
24th March in Stockport

Chief Constable Stephen Watson is very keen to commence a series of Neighbourhood Policing Consultation events across the Greater Manchester Police area. These events will be open to the public (there will be a further opportunity for Officials and Partners). Their purpose will be simple and straightforward - To ask the communities of GMP what they wish to see from Neighbourhood policing.

The messages that we take from these consultations
will be front and centre in designing a Neighbourhood Policing
model that the public wish to see.

The Stockport event will take place on 24th March at 19.00, in the Conference Room at Edgeley Park, Stockport County Football Club.

SURVEY – YOUR OPTIONS MATTER

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unequal impact on populations in the UK, with Greater Manchester experiencing disproportionally high virus-related morbidity and mortality. Although the COVID-19 vaccination programme has been hugely impactful, uptake of the vaccines has varied across Greater Manchester communities and neighbourhoods. The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Greater Manchester and Health Innovation Manchester (the Academic Health Science Network for Greater Manchester and East Cheshire) are working with a range of Greater Manchester Partners to explore vaccination activities undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faith-based groups, voluntary organisations and charities have made huge contributions to vaccination related activities in Greater Manchester and we would like to capture some brief information on the groups involved in recent vaccination activities. This will help public health understand and document the range of organisations involved and activities that have been undertaken. This research and information will be used alongside other information to explore more opportunities for targeted vaccination activities and produce actionable guidance for all types of vaccination programmes delivered now and in the future across Greater Manchester.

The survey can be accessed here:

The deadline for responding is Wednesday 9 March.
