Summer 2020 Newsletter

Harvest time has come and gone, and the summer is over, and still we have not been delivered.  Jer. 8:20

But His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in!  Jer. 20:9

The current events and circumstances that are continuing to mark year 2020 have impacted us personally in an unexpected course of action!

In our lives of over 6 decades we have been through many situations that influenced the world around us and, because our experiences with God’s miraculous protection have offered us His constant peace, even in our current circumstances we remain fully confident that He is still very present in every aspect of our lives!

Looking back at the past months events, this gives us great reassurance as we know whom we trusted in making our plans as we believe that our Lord was not taken by surprise!  This confidence, however has taken us to a new level of prayer!

The verse above has been playing in my mind lately as we, like Jeremiah, lament before the Lord yearning for this world pandemic to pass and to return to the country and the people of our calling, Romania!

I am reminded of my friend, Donna Koch’s favorite verse, “Be still and know that I am God” and pray along with prophet Hosea for our land and for our world:  “Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. In just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence. Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”

Hosea 6:1-3 NLT

The harvest of souls knows no boundaries because "…the word of God cannot be chained." 2 Tim. 2:9

We are very grateful for the team that the Lord has graciously blessed us with in Baneasa CT, Romania!

Stefan and Ana graduated from MSO (ministrystudiesonline.com) in June, Lidia, (Ana’s sister), just started MSO this year, while Tabita, Adrian and Sevijan are involved in the ICI with Global University! This is a young team and we pray that their ministry will impact our unreached region for many years ahead!

Stefan is growing persistently in his leadership ability and is bringing great encouragement to the rest of the team!

We are in constant communication with them regarding the work in our region and, although they had to alter the method of serving the needs of the people, they are doing it with love and concern for the eternal destiny of every soul touched with the gospel and the love of Jesus!

We have a big list of prayer needs, but first this praise report:

On July 21 our container set sail towards Romania! We are so grateful for everything that we were blessed with by our dear friends and partners!

We are especially grateful for the well drilling system, as presently our region is going through a period of drought and thy lost all their grain and corn due to no rain! The water wells will offer the people the possibility of growing gardens besides improving health, cleanliness and wellbeing!

We also sent the necessary supplies to equip our other two centers in Ostrov and Cuiugiuc for the ministries that are already taking place or are ready to begin!

School will start in September and our children ministry, youth and the after-school program will be well supplied for the new school year!

It took many hard working hands, loving hearts and many resources to make this possible but the joy that we will be seeing on the faces of the people whom we serve and the 800 children around Christmas time receiving the greatest gift, Jesus along with a token of your love, will be quite indescribable! Thank you!

Please pray with us:

  1. For our soon return to Romania
  2. For the container that we shipped to be cleared by Romanian customs without any difficulty!
  3. For the difficult situation in Romania caused by COVID-19. According to reports, many medical professionals have been infected with the virus and transmitted it to their patients, hospitals are overwhelmed and not being able to meet the other medical needs of the people.
  4. For strength for our team to continue the work and use every opportunity to spread the gospel such as care packages, medical supplies, transportation, etc.
  5. Pray for the two families who lost their homes in the fire: pray that through the help we were able to offer to restore their homes they will be drawn to know Jesus, the only source of salvation, hope and protection!
  6. For those who have received the Lord to continue to grow through the power and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
  7. For the new workers whom the Lord is calling to the Baneasa region: Todd Brosky, MA, from PennDel and the Huelsebusch family from TX.

One more praise report: If you remember, I mentioned a little girl who is now 6 years old but could never walk! With your love and support we were able to provide a wheelchairs. And transportation to the hospital for a series of operations. Now she is able to walk for the first time in her life!!!

Thank you, dear friends for your continuous, sacrificial and heart felt collaboration to reach the souls of Romania’s most precious people of every age!

In His service, with all our love and gratitude!
