Harvest time has come and gone, and the summer is over, and still we have not been delivered. Jer. 8:20
But His word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! Jer. 20:9
The current events and circumstances that are continuing to mark year 2020 have impacted us personally in an unexpected course of action!
In our lives of over 6 decades we have been through many situations that influenced the world around us and, because our experiences with God’s miraculous protection have offered us His constant peace, even in our current circumstances we remain fully confident that He is still very present in every aspect of our lives!
Looking back at the past months events, this gives us great reassurance as we know whom we trusted in making our plans as we believe that our Lord was not taken by surprise! This confidence, however has taken us to a new level of prayer!
The verse above has been playing in my mind lately as we, like Jeremiah, lament before the Lord yearning for this world pandemic to pass and to return to the country and the people of our calling, Romania!
I am reminded of my friend, Donna Koch’s favorite verse, “Be still and know that I am God” and pray along with prophet Hosea for our land and for our world: “Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. In just a short time he will restore us, so that we may live in his presence. Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let us press on to know him. He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn or the coming of rains in early spring.”
Hosea 6:1-3 NLT
