Hi Everyone,
Spring, oh how we love the Spring!!!
On the farm everything is bursting into life. The grass is starting to grow and the Tulips are starting to pop through the ground too so it will be approximately 6 weeks until we have fields of colour right out our front window (I promise I will supply pics)
On the Sheep side of things we are in the middle of lambing. We run Wiltshire sheep here, they are one of the breeds that do not require shearing as their fleece gets to a certain length and then it sheds. They sometimes finds a hedge to go under just to help rub off the excess. We also have 2 mobs of grazing Hoggets (last years ewe lambs) that are almost finished the winter feed and ready to get on to the grass. Sheep are an important part of our farm operation, they are great at tidying up the fence-lines and taking out any of those annoying weeds in preparation for sowing our arable crops (Wheat, Barley and of course Hemp)
With this latest lockdown we have managed to get a lot of paperwork done! Every year we need to submit a report and also re-apply for our growing license. We also managed to get some pressing done.
We have a NEW product on the horizon........We have been experimenting making Chapstick / Lip Balm. We are just in trial phase at the moment and have sent out a few for feedback so keep an eye out on our website for when these become available.
Thank you so much for your support!
Until next time, take care
