MAMO UPDATE

One of my favorite pictures of Mom.

Taken at the cabin with my sister, Suzie, 1962. I have been able to visit Mom since vaccinations.  She had no idea we had not seen each other in 8 months, thankfully.  Mom has lost weight,

her hair is long, braided adorably. Her nails painted Nantucket Red. She loves petting Frank Sinatra, so I bring

him for very visit too.

"Hey Frank!" I say.  "Wanna go see grandma?" And he's off his chair

and into the car lickety-split!

We three sit quietly in the garden.  Mom and I hold hands. We watch the leaves flutter and we lift our chin to the sky to kiss the sun.  Not much is said, yet so much is heard. Sometimes we cry. Then Frank farts and we laugh.

Our days are getting

short, our light is getting dim, oh how

glad I am to still have you.

I love you beyond beyond!

See you Tuesday~

PERSONAL NOTE

Meet Coraline, Cora for short.

She is about a year old, Great Pyrenees, Retriever mix.  Frank is smitten.

Adopting her almost did not happen because of my fear over Vitto not being a good fit. In 30 years, I have never had a pup not integrate into my loving

home with any problem...

Who knows, maybe 3 males carried too much testosterone?  Vitto found an immediate, good home as an only child.

If I let fear win, I would have denied Frank, Cora and myself a lot

of JOY and crack ups  She is anxious to meet Mamo this week.

Cora smiles. She is loyal,

and funny as hell.

Moral of this story: Don't let fear win.

- Vic
