June 2021 - Newsletter

Summer is (almost!) here at GRP and the outdoor activities are calling to us. Fortunately, the crew worked hard last month to earn a little vacation time. We finished acquiring picture book manuscripts for our first two seasons, and have welcomed to GRP the amazing author-illustrators Bonnie Kelso and Anita Crawford Clark, and authors Candace Spizzirri, Mary Munson, Susan Johnston Taylor, Catherine Ciocchi, Kari Ann Gonzalez, and Rachel Hobbs Gunn. We are introducing each of them and their stories on the GRP News tab, so make sure to check back often to learn about these talented creatives and what they hope to share with future readers. Also, stay tuned on our Twitter feed or website for more exciting news about the illustrators who will be working on some of these books! 

What's Coming Up?  

Each day brings something new to Timbers and the team at GRP. And while we have been busy building village infrastructure, there is plenty more to do in support of the greater Kidlit community. This month we are planning to stop by the #PitMad and #PBPitch events on Twitter. Good luck to all who are participating! Next month we drop by the Children's Book Academy as a Golden Ticket judge and we will be featured in a popular spotlight interview you won't want to miss. We are also preparing presentations for regional SCBWI conferences in the fall and hope to share more about those activities soon.  

As a reminder, we are closed to submissions at the Little Gnome imprint until September. We hope to update the wish list soon to give everyone an idea of what we will be looking for and time to polish up those works in progress!
