Folio Network

e-Newsletter

July 2022

Hello and welcome to our first Folio e-Newsletter.

As many of you know, it is early days for the expansion of our Folio network and we are still collecting feedback on how we may help you most.

What we do know already is that a network for meeting like-minded people, sharing best practice, exploring collaborations and enjoying a good ol' coffee is welcomed by many of you. What else this network is able to do will depend on you, we will continue to work together to keep the network relevant, engaging and valuable. We want the New Forest to continue to be a place for Creativity and Culture to thrive.

Online & Face to Face Networking

In an attempt to get this right for the majority of our members (sorry, we know we've already asked a lot of questions) please complete the survey below to help us understand which online and face to face networking arrangements would work best for you. It is just 4 questions and will take approximately 1 minute to complete.

We are hoping to hold our first face to face networking event in late September/early October. This session will include networking time, an introduction to our £1mil Arts Council England project, Culture in Common and a workshop exploring your ideas for a creative and cultural New Forest.

New Forest District: an Arts Council England Priority Place

New Forest District, along with nearby places Rushmoor, Gosport, Portsmouth and Isle of Wight, has been identified as an ACE Priority Place. This means, in these areas engagement with Creativity and Culture is below the national average. As part of the Levelling Up agenda ACE are investing in Priority Places, outside of London, with a focus on raising participation levels through Creative People and Place projects and investing in Cultural Places. The New Forest have been successful in securing a £1 million Creative People and Places project, Culture in Common, looking to increase community engagement over the next three years, hopefully with a long lasting legacy in the area.
