ISSUE 15, May 2022

Welcome to my May newsletter!

I'd like to share some more Viennese culture with you.

May is the time the Viennese go to "Heurigen", or wine taverns.

They offer the Viennese and their guests entertainment, fine Viennese wines and culinary accompaniment (see photo below). A place in which to feel good. The real Viennese Heurige, in which only Viennese wines are served, are identified by a bunch of pine branches and by the word “Ausg’steckt” written on a board, which simultaneously shows when the tavern is open.

It's been a while since I have been to a Heurigen but the thought of sitting outdoors with friends, eating good food and having a glass of local wine sounds good to me :). If you ever get a chance to come to Vienna, you should go to one.....

BRAND NEW IN MY SHOP!

My latest kit is called "Paris Tea Party", and is dedicated to my friend Bèa, who lives in France. It's my dream of meeting her in Paris one day to have some tea and sweets together! This is another collaboration with my talented friend, Ray, who created most of the illustrations. You can watch here here. In addition to my monthly background pages, ephemera pages and clip art, I of course also created the monthly planner kits: May monthly, weeklies and trackers with backgrounds, planner pages without dates, as well as the weekly double spread for more writing space, fun planner notes, and of course my monthly planner freebies.

EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK

My current planner was turning into more of a gator-mouth than I could handle, so I found a way to fix that by making 2 planners out of one, basically. Maybe you have a similar situation? Hopefully my video on May 6th can help!

WHAT'S ON MY DESK

I have been deep into my first eco-dyeing experiments the past 2 weeks and I have documented my journey, so that you don't have to repeat my mistakes and rather come up with new ones :). Video will be up May 10th.

FREEBIE

In my latest Junk Journal Snacks episode, I made a party in my junk journal behind this door! :) This is a photo I took of a beautiful door near my apartment. Please feel free to download it here.

A VIDEO YOU MISSED?

I feel like it's been all over YouTube and Instagram, but just in case you missed it, you can still join Sonja's (Elise_Klatschmohn) #rusticsevenchallenge, where you ask a loved one to find 7 non-craft items to make a tag with. It's such a fun challenge that teaches you how to think outside of the box and that you can craft with just about anything small enough!

FEATURING Naira from São Paulo, Brazil

In this section I like to present projects created by my viewers.

Here is some info Naira sent me:

"I have always been connected to papers. I was the kind of girl who had that chunky agenda in high school. Later I got addicted to scrapbooking too. One day I came across video on YouTube that called my attention. It was a video about junk journal. I was really curious about this name and decided to watch it. I immediately fell in love with it! From that moment on I started looking for videos on the topic. Junk journaling was the best thing that ever happened to me. I really found myself! When it comes to style, I think I haven't found mine yet. I am really interested in vintage and  grunge journals and I love coffee effects. My project is an altered playing card for a challenge and I have followed many tips from Barbara! First of all she has made me addicted to splatters and gold! Another important tip I always keep in mind: in case you need a color and do not have an oxide use acrylic paints or water color! This tip has changed my life! This is what I did with the pink color! I love Barbara's videos! She is one of my favorite artists!"

Naira used one of my Boho Birds images for this fun card.

I want to be featured next!
