We are looking forward to attending the Alzheimers Show on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March, where we will have a stand, collaboratively with the Journal of Dementia Care.

 

We would be delighted to see many of our supporters in attendance so please come and find us at stand number B9.

 

On Saturday 26th, the main theater will host in-depth talks on key topics of interest for carers, relatives and professionals. At 1.40pm our CEO, Barbara Stephens will give a talk entitled: 'Dementia support in the community: a third sector integrated approach'.

'Level 3 Award in 'Awareness of Dementia'' Validated by OCN London

28th April - 28th July 2022 - Four modules each delivered via two half day webinars, over 4 months.

 

Enrol onto the programme and gain a nationally recognised qualification in dementia care and increase your knowledge, understanding and skills in caring for people living with dementia.

 

The training is suitable for those who are currently involved in supporting individuals with dementia for example residential care workers, domiciliary care workers, healthcare assistants, support/key workers, first line supervisors and many other roles.

'Cognitive Stimulation Therapy'

Would you like to learn how to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) as a group treatment for people with dementia?

Attending CST training teaches people to apply the key principles during CST, encouraging its use in a standardised, person-centred and effective way.

The course is suitable for residential care, domiciliary and day care staff, health care assistants, managers within health and social care services and healthcare professionals including psychologists, occupational therapists, and nurses.

Some people living with dementia will have enjoyed spending time colouring in their earlier life, for others it will be a new experience.

 

Research into the effects of coloring activities for people living with dementia show positive outcomes, most notably a decrease in agitation and anxiety.
