We're coming to the close of 2020, and I think many of us will be looking forward to a fresh start in 2021.There've been unexpected experiences and lessons in this past year, and in some cases, sorrow at having to let go of cherished parts of our lives. But it’s also a time for gratitude - we're still moving forward.The holiday period can be a welcome chance to take a breather, and reconnect to who and what's important to us.
In this newsletter, we'll explore a new approach to a traditional use of crystals, enhancing our health and beauty. I'm also introducing some new offerings, including astrology reports. Be sure to read right to the end, as there are freebies for you! :)

A Time for Completion and Rebirth |

Solstice means 'standstill', for around December 21st each year, the sun appears to rise and set in the same place for a few days before beginning its journey for the next turning of the spiral year. In ancient times, Europe celebrated the midwinter season and the gradual increase in light with feasting, merrymaking, light and fire. In the Christian era, this festival became the Feast of Christ, (Christ’s Mass, or Christmas). The Solstice is the true start of the New Year, rather than January 1st. |

Mulled Wine Mulled wine is a favourite for the holiday season in the colder climes. In the past, Yuletide feasts were washed down with favourite beverages of the region, such as beer in Wales, and imported wine from the fifth century onwards in Ireland. Ingredients 2 standard bottles of good red wine 1.5 teaspoons of freshly ground nutmeg 0.5 teaspoon of ground ginger 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon allspice 1 teaspoon whole cloves 1 cinnamon stick Honey or sugar to taste. Method Simmer gently in a large saucepan for 1 hour, being careful not to boil. Strain through a cheesecloth or similar, and serve warm. (from “Kindling the Celtic Spirit” by Mara Freeman. Crystals are wonderful healing tools and we can use them to boost our natural healing powers. I regularly use Gua Sha crystals on my face and body, following traditional Chinese methods. Gua sha treatments help to improve circulation, enhance collagen production, and reduce lines.
I've found it's much more cost effective than expensive salon facial treatments. I purchase mine from my local Chinese Traditional Medicine supplier. In the new year, perhaps I'll make a video of myself demonstrating a Gua sha treatment :)
Traditionally made of Jade, which is a fantastic balancing and calming crystal, they're also available in rose and clear quartz.
