Spring Update from Magdalena

Dear Friends,

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, this Spring has been unlike any we could have imagined. I do hope that this note finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

As many of you have done, I have moved my Columbia University classes, along with many other activities, online. Among them are weekly performance/talks I have been releasing as a part of my new BACH@HOME series (music of Bach, Debussy, and more to come!). You will find piano and harpsichord performances, followed by short discussions of the historical context, as well as aspects of interpretation and performance practice. If you would like to stay updated on the latest videos, do subscribe to my YouTube channel.

I am also very pleased to announce that today marks the release of my new album, DEBUSSY ON 5th AVENUE, featuring Debussy's celebrated cycles for piano solo: Estampes and two books of Images. In this video, I explain the making of this album, using the new and innovative recording process involving Yamaha Disklavier technology. You may download the album on Apple Music, Spotify, or listen on YouTube.

In case you missed the January release of Music for Dreams ChillHop Remix, made in collaboration with composer/DJ Gene Pritsker, you may learn about it from this video, and listen to it here.

Wishing you and your families a healthy and safe summer, I look forward to staying in touch.

Sincerely,

Magdalena
