RESONATOR

This month's Resonator has been slightly delayed. No, it's not because we got carried away with festive celebrations. In fact, it's much the opposite.

Unfortunately, the pesky Coronavirus finally caught up with us.

So, without further ado, what can you expect to find in this month's Resonator?

  • An alternative way to attract engagements
  • A very accurate reflection of marketing agencies
  • The latest social media news

AN ALTERNATIVE TO POSTS

If you're on LinkedIn, you've probably come across the work of Mr Dave Harland.

He is, quite simply, a copywriting genius.

His posts bring a ray of sunshine to the sometimes hellish world of LinkedIn.

But it's not just Dave's posts that are gaining attention.

Another thought-leader (cringe) on LinkedIn is Simon Sinek. You may have heard of him if you're not on LinkedIn. He's a bit of a business / leadership guru who does the rounds on news shows and podcasts, especially in America.

The thing is, Simon's posts are a bit cliché and clearly pre-determined.

So, Dave has taken it upon himself to liven them up a bit.

Using his trademark wit and fantastic storytelling, the character of Uncle Tony has become a regular feature in Simon Sinek's recent posts.

Each time, Dave contradicts the core message of Simon's post with a far-fetched, amusing tale about Uncle Tony's business ventures.

As you can see from the screenshot above, his comments rack up the kind of engagements some people may dream of on a post.

Getting down into the comments of other people's posts is a great way to reach new people. Especially if you're bringing value, or entertaining like Dave.

CAUGHT OUR EYE

This month's Caught Our Eye isn't the usual type of thing you'd expect to see. Normally, we try to pull out something you can learn from.

But this time, it's something that made us laugh.

There's some cringeworthy stuff that comes from marketing agencies (we're probably not in the clear ourselves) but this parody is brilliant!
