Lunch: There's a new lunch deal at Park Street Mews Restaurant: three courses, starter, main and dessert, for Rs1200. There's a choice of three starters including soup of the day, five main courses and three desserts. We know of 4 midweek lunch deals. Tarshish Villa's is the lowest price but Park Street Mews Restaurant is the only one with 3 separate courses.

Dinner: We've so far come across surprisingly few dinner deals but this week the Galle Face Hotel have announced a dinner special five days a week, with a different cuisine each night, while Hoppers Night is back at the Jetwing Colombo 7. However this week Pranzo at Water's Edge have a particularly exciting dinner offer, an all-you-can-eat crab buffet, for just four days from 21st to 24th January. Hurry or you'll miss it!

Happy Hours & Ladies Night There's lot of good new happy hours to choose from. We like Curve Bar, who celebrate their 12th birthday this week, because as well as cocktails they also offer a wine and tapas combination. The Manchester also have happy hour snacks and King of the Mambo do on Wednesdays. Of the others, Happy Hour is three hours daily at Asylum; at The Steuart it varies but is all day Sunday while Dutch Pub has 2 for 1 beers all day. Of the Ladies' Night deals now, King of the Mambo are on Monday, Ask for Fern on Wednesday and Playtrix on Friday. Its not only drinks, though. Arabian Knights have an offer for ladies on Wednesday, 25% off meals and free mehendi henna hand painting.

Last Week: For only the second week of 2021, quite a lot happened last week. Congratulations to all at AOD on the success of the first virtual Sri Lanka Design Festival. The festival heard from designers, artists and creators over four days of events, discussing the new normal, sustainability and more, all free to watch. Workout hosted their first weekend trek of the year, to explore the sights and tea history around Kandy, which was by all accounts a great trip. The Movenpick marked their fourth anniversary in Colombo with a range of celebratory events and offers, some of which are still available. And of course many places celebrated Thai Pongal with special menus, dinners and other offers. This week seems quite quiet after that; but there's still lots to do. Visit HappeningColombo to find out what! It's updated every day. |
