TOURNAMENT PHOTOS Thank you to ALL who supported this annual event (participants, parents, volunteers). Special thanks to our photographers mentioned below, to Mrs. Michelle Martin and boys (for check-in, cleanup and food/beverage sales), Mr. & Mrs. Hays and family (for food/beverage sales, set-up, cleanup and head table ring assistance), our highly devoted judges Mr. D, Mrs. Renee and Mr. Alan, Mrs. Jennifer Kong (for Master and Grand Master assistance), and lastly my girls, Makayla and Miranda, my husband, Mr. Jeff (who had the flu the day of the event) and my boys Mason and Max. My family sacrifices quite a bit due to my alter ego TKD life! :-) A tournament requires a lot of volunteers! Our annual event wouldn't be what it is without ALL volunteers. I am forever grateful and thankful for my TKD family! LINK TO PHOTOS 1 (compliments of Mr. Lucero, Rian's Dad) LINK TO PHOTOS 2 (compliments of Mr. Toussaint, Irfan, Maryam & Sara's Dad) IMPORTANT! Whoever took photos of Mr. John Julian (the gentleman in the scooter), myself and GM Hwang, please send the photo to me by text or email. Mr. Julian is the man who assisted the opening of my first TKD school over 20 years ago. He is an important individual in my life and I need to frame that photo for him. Thank you! ~ Ms. G. |

DECEMBER'S STUDENT/ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR OF THE MONTH IS MR. ALAN!
Mr. Alan's interview was a little different given his decades in the art.... "I started TKD in 1992 at the age of 38 (27 years this month). At the time, I needed physical activity and something that would help me increase focus and reduce stress from my career. I was fortunate to train under Korean Grand Master Jo Up Oh. |
I enjoy the physical activity benefits but most important to me is how the art, if practiced, changes your mental ability to live AND be when times are tough. (helps us) be the best (we) can be. I think these days I cannot perform like I could in (my) younger years. My greatest achievement in TKD is the simple (act of) being able to help and be a part of 100's of people's lives, young and old. (I've) changed their lives by practicing TKD. I am thankful for my three daughter's and grandchildren. My faith and health in 2018 (has been) the most challenging year of my life. My TKD family has been a huge part of my life (this past) year and (will be) for more years to come. Being retired, I love times with my daughter's and grandchildren. (I) enjoy salt water fishing and playing Holdem Poker. " Again, Mr. Alan, we are thankful and grateful for you in our lives! Congratulations on Student/Assistant Instructor of the Month ~ Ms. G. |
