Green Business Competition Announced

REDC is excited to announce a Green Business Competition, the second in the THRIVE Competition Series, a collection of business challenges that will provide money and momentum to help growing small businesses thrive in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire-based businesses with initiatives that contribute to sustainability and have a positive ecological impact on their communities are invited to enter the Green Business Competition for the chance to win a $7,500 grant to grow their business. Businesses that create Green products, provide Green services, and/or businesses that implement environmentally friendly initiatives within their practices are eligible to apply.

The application for this competition is located at www.redc.com/thrive. Anyone who is unable to submit electronically may request a physical application by calling 603-772-2655 to set up an appointment.

The deadline to submit applications is Sunday, September 15, 2024, 11:59 pm Eastern Time. The grant winner will be announced on September 30, 2024.

This competition will be judged by the following experts in various sustainability and economic development fields:

• Reagan Bissonnette, Executive Director of the Northeast Resource Recovery Association

• Mark Zankel, Director of Community Solar at ReVision Energy 

• Craig Jewett, President of Jewett Construction Co.

Riddlehaven Escape Rooms aspires to bring a unique entertainment experience to the city of Dover, NH. Their mission is to create unforgettable escape games that captivate players and offer an engaging activity for groups of friends, family, and coworkers to connect, collaborate, and celebrate together. The creative team behind Riddlehaven, owner Kim Willoughby and partner Will Willoughby, have 50 combined years of creative writing, marketing, and design experience. Stay tuned for news on their grand opening in the future.

Monthly Kiva Webinar

REDC hosts a monthly virtual webinar to discuss Kiva, a global crowdfunding platform that provides small business owners in New Hampshire the opportunity to obtain a loan of up to $15,000 with 0% interest and $0 in fees. REDC clients and non-clients alike are welcome to attend. The next session is on Wednesday, September 11th, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

During this free webinar, our advisors will walk participants through every step of the Kiva process, from submitting the initial application to loan disbursal and repayment.
