Angela Anning

Who Would Have Thought...

Silk hankies can be maddening to work with? - they stick to your fingers and jauntily refuse to stay in place - but when you can get them under control they produce the most gorgeous textures when nuno felted with fine silk and wools. Member Angela Anning enjoyed experimenting with them and will now go on to incorporating these effects into scarves for York Open Studios on April 15/16 and 22/23.

Walk The Line Exhibition

Member Jane Claire Wilson has been selected to exhibit at the latest House Of Smalls Exhibition 1st - 15th March. Jane's work The Green Line is inspired by the term for the demilitarised zone imposed during and after conflict. An unexpected consequence is the creation of a truly green space allowing flora and fauna to flourish.

Julie Atthews

Sea Gaze

Member Julie Atthews is currently running a Textile Land and Seascape course. After an introduction to various textile techniques including machine embroidery, appliqué, couching, and embellishment processes participants have created their own land and seascape pieces. Julie’s demonstration piece ‘Sea Gaze’ illustrates how these techniques can be combined to create an abstract interpretation of the colours, texture and atmosphere of our favourite places
