February Updates & Michelle's Ramblings

Time again for another newsletter with all the things!

Good news! We are still growing! If you’ve been following us on Instagram you’re probably aware that we have started building our bigger permanent sauna. We have a bunch of other noisy projects coming up in February and have lost one of our mobile saunas (Betty) so we have decided to limit our customer capacity during this process.

The spa will be open to members only for the week of February 11 to February 18 (with the exception of some events and previous bookings) Below is a little sneak peek of what the lower spa will be transformed into. Think big ole' sunbathing deck, large wood burning sauna, better cold plunging and some privacy from the neighbors :) If you want to see my pinterest page of inspiration (it's dangerous) click here... sauna/connectwellness

During this construction phase I've decided to push pause on any new memberships and spa pack purchases until I feel like we can accommodate everyone! My first priority is to make sure our current members and customers have adequate availability. As soon as we can increase capacity we plan to have a sale on 10-packs! We are also thinking about some open-house-style free time slots for all the people who want to see the space but don't want to get in the cold plunge. I just love sales and free things. How 'bout you?!

As far as timeline, we are hoping the sauna/cold plunge/deck will be wrapped up by March 1st but you know how construction goes...

This project has been launched with the departure of the mobile sauna 'Betty' (the vintage camper trailer). Betty has taken off with Alan as he journeys to open his own part time spa somewhere in the Sandy, Oregon area. It will be dedicated to the naturist community and I don't have any details other than he has the motivation to make it happen! Alan and I have been romantic partners for 6 years and have decided to end our romantic partnership with love and respect. He has been an integral part of our lives and we wish him luck with opening his own spa. We are hoping that we can have Betty over here for occasional visits sometime soon. Hopefully that doesn't sound weird, ha. Thanks for your love and support as I transition to single-hood. Your kind words, hugs, prayers and thoughts have meant a lot to me.

Future Plans...As we have grown, I’m realizing that this space is not our forever home. There are just too many of you for my little backyard!  I’m actively looking for the best property to continue to grow and keep gaining new customers.  Ideally, our new location(s) would be something in the 1-4 acre size, centrally located with the majority of the spa space outside. Think McMenamins-Edgefield but add multiple different saunas, a Turkish style steam room and lots of cold plunge areas. Plus warm showers and a locker room, haha. Would be pretty epic, ya?! If you happen to have any leads on something that fits the bill, please let me know. If you happen to be a rich investor also please let me know. Kind of joking but not really joking... If you would pray for the timing of this I would so appreciate it. If you aren't a prayer-er (ha) I'll take those positive universe vibes and big manifestation energy too!

We finally have some Connect Wellness swag available! We have just a few of our older items in stock (green hoodies and tie dye shirts) and we are placing a NEW large order in February. If any of this catches your eye please pre-order! We will have our pre-order open until February 21st. I'm trying to time it that you'll get your stuff right when I can have more people here. Brilliant marketing if I do say so myself. Except then I'll have to build more saunas...shoot.

Upcoming events-

February 14th we have a super generous offering from our customer Kate Donaldson. She runs social emotional learning trainings (say that 10 times fast) that teach adults important skills to support the youth in their life. You can check her out here... Kathleen Donaldson. She will be hosting an event titled Take Care of Your Heart here on February 14th from 5:30- 7:30 with a silent soak after.  Join us for two hours of heart-healing practices, journaling, movement and breath-work. Experience somatic practices to open the heart and restore physical and emotional wellbeing and balance. All are welcome. Please bring a blanket, journal, a pen, and attire to enjoy an optional silent soak after the session (bring a swimsuit, towels, and water). She is offering this class for free! The cost is just the cost of your spa session ($30). It’s limited to 8 customers but we will have a waitlist for anyone who cancels last minute! Book here.
 

We are finally starting a once a month sound bath event!  We are pleased to announce that the one and only Hiroko with Healing Hado will be offering sound baths plus one hour in the spa every third Saturday of the month.  Our first one is February 18th. The event will be an hour of spa time followed by about an hour of sound bath therapy in the yurt. It’s pretty amazing! I was able to attend last month and I was absolutely swimming in bliss for the next week or so, I highly recommend this! Cost is $55 and includes the spa session. Lastly on February 25th we have Jenne Sharpe offering a Women’s Winter Retreat here! Cost is $153 and is a beautiful way to get some guidance to reconnect to yourself! The day will have reiki, chakra balancing and meditation, time to journal… Click the link for more information or to sign up! The event is called  Soul Fire Retreat  and Jenne is in charge of this booking so it's easiest to book on her site.
