We're raising as much as we can to beat cancer
In memory of
Maria Gilroy
Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page. In January, our wonderful friend and choir member Maria Gilroy passed away after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer. Maria was a leader - an incredible nurse, dedicated colleague, and a resolute NHS campaigner. She was a fierce, funny and inspirational woman who believed deeply in Our NHS and in fighting to save it, always ready to raise her voice in support of others and what she believed in. This special version of Fight Song has been recorded in her memory by current and former choir members, who also contributed the photos and clips used in the video. The song is being released on the 5th July, which is the NHS' 73rd birthday, and will round off a weekend of protests that we know Maria would have been on the front line of: https://youtu.be/_qFnbjJZGVc Please donate to this page in Maria's memory and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
