Nominations open for

EO Excellence Awrad

Do you know someone who did an extraordinary job in the Earth observation domain? The nomination is now open until December 5th. You can even nominate yourself. The winner can receive a prize of up to 35K Euro and the winning team can get up to 65K Euro.

The winners will be announced in March 2025.

Sentinel-5P Improvements are Operational

On September 11, 2024, the Sentinel-5 Precursor (S5p) ground-processing system has been updated.

The improvements are mentioned in the original announcement. In brief, the update brings changes to the UV Aerosol Index, Aerosol Layer Height, Methane, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Dioxide, and O3 Profile. Also, the S-NPP VIIRS - Cloud auxiliary product is updated with minor bug fixes.

In addition, the used DEM has been changed from GMTED2010 to the Copernicus DEM with 90m spatial resolution. And the the Lambertian-Equivalent Reflectivity Database (DLER) has been updated to include 5 years of data.

NASA’s New Approach to Earth Science Missions

NASA is transforming its Earth science missions to prioritize practical applications from the start. This shift aims to ensure that data from missions like the Surface Biology and Geology (SBG) and ICESat-2 are immediately useful for addressing urgent environmental challenges. By integrating user needs into mission design and enhancing existing programs, NASA is making its data more accessible and actionable for decision-makers worldwide.

Esri Releases Low-code/No-code App Builders Developer Guide

Esri recently released the new Low-code/no-code app builders developer guide. The guide helps developers use ArcGIS app builders to create web apps with little to no code.

It covers four main app builders: ArcGIS Instant Apps, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and ArcGIS Experience Builder.

Each builder offers unique features like pre-built components, interactive dashboards, immersive stories, and drag-and-drop interfaces.
