OUR MEMBERSHIP GROWS

In the second half of this year, five leading international wineries have joined the ranks of IWCA. Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España / C.V.N.E. (Spain), Domaine Lafage (France), Herdade dos Grous (Portugal), Sogrape (Portugal) and Viñas Familia Gil (Spain) have joined forces with dozens of other wineries in IWCA in the fight to halt climate change. They have all met the rigorous criteria set out by IWCA to become members of our collaborative working group.

WINERY MEMBERSHIP UPGRADES

Ten IWCA wineries from across the world’s top wine-producing regions reached important milestones, achieving IWCA Gold and Silver membership.

Alma Carraovejas (Spain) has reached coveted IWCA Gold-level membership as a result of its work in tracking and reducing its emissions in the Race to Zero. This reflects the winery’s determined climate action within all parts of its business, including achieving a 10% reduction in emissions per liter of wine since 2019 and sourcing 24% of its energy from renewable energy.

Nine other wineries completed comprehensive Scopes 1-2-3 GHG emissions inventories to reach Silver membership status: A to Z Wineworks (Oregon, USA), Cakebread Cellars (California, USA), Constellation Brands Fine Wines (USA), Crimson Wine Group (California, USA), Felton Road (New Zealand), Gloria Ferrer (California, USA), Ridge Vineyards (California, USA), Sula Vineyards (India), and Viña Undurraga (Chile).

IWCA 2ND ANNUAL REPORT RELEASED

In November, we released our second Annual Report! It includes individual winery spotlights, focusing on the efforts of each member in their journey to reduce GHG emissions. It gives unprecedented insight into how climate change is affecting wineries across the world and how each of those wineries are working to reduce their carbon emissions through innovation and hard work. Read it now.

WELCOMING NEW LEADERSHIP

IWCA is thrilled to welcome our first Executive Director, Charlotte Hey. This major step forward is aimed at further developing the strength of the organization as a global benchmark for climate action within the wine sector. Learn more about Charlotte and her 25+ years in the wine sector.
