What is Healthy Breathing and why it matters. The average human breathes between 17,000 and 30,000 breaths per day but has no idea how this powerful tool affects overall health or even what it means to breath healthy. That's why I'm teaching a full series on Radical Well-Being with Blissful Breathwork. Because everyone breathes and numerous studies and centuries of empirical evidence show just breathwork can indeed health us on multiple levels. So what does it mean to have healthy breathing habits? The healthiest way for humans to breathe is in and out the nose, without holding or stopping. There may be a slight pause, which is OK as long as it doesn't lead to breath holding. A healthy breath is slow, between 5-15 breaths per minute. A healthy breath is full into the lowest parts of the lungs so the belly expands a little on inhale as the organs push down to allow more room for the diaphragm to expand. Sucking in the gut is very bad the overall breath habits as it restricts how full the lungs can get. Among other things, this lets toxins settle in the lowest parts of the lungs and not get expelled, wrecking havoc on us. A healthy breath is easy, quiet and fulfilling. To not be able to breathe a full breath leaves us wanting, as our brains and bodies long for life-giving oxygen and the chi/prana we inhale with each full inspiration. Just noticing breathing makes the breath a little healthier but breathing exercises are designed to jump start the system in many ways. Each session in the Radical Well-Being with Blissful Breathwork class is different and slightly progressive in nature. We already started getting our respiratory baselines and documenting that in our breathwork journals. But there's still time for you to join us for the next session and begin a brand new relationship with breathing. Classes take place the 2nth and 4th Thursdays, 6-7pm at Blissful.Energy, 240 S. Wickham. The detailed class schedule can be seen here: |

Thank you for your continued support. My book is doing well but will do even better with more reviews on Amazon. It takes over 50 reviews for Amazon to put a book on a genre search page!! If you have an Amazon account, please take 2 minutes to leave a quick review by clicking below. You can just click the Amazon stars or say something like: "SSOC taught me more about breathing. Quite useful." Simple is good and supportive for ZERO Dollars :) | | |
