Introducing Online Water Bill Payments Through Mississippi EzPay Starting June 1, 2023

The Town of Sturgis has taken a leap into the digital age by introducing online payment options for customers on the town's water line. This development aims to streamline the billing process, making it more convenient and efficient for residents and businesses alike.

Traditionally, the water line billing process has required manual transactions, such as in-person payments, bank drafts or mailing checks. However, recognizing the need to adapt to modern times we have implemented a secure and user-friendly online payment system. This initiative reflects the town's commitment to embracing technology while ensuring exceptional service for its valued community.

How to Make Online Payments

Getting started with online payments for your water bill is a breeze. Here's a simple step-by-step guide to help you navigate the process:

  1. Visit the town's official website and navigate to the Services section. https://www.townofsturgisms.com/services

  2. Under Water & Sewage look for the "Pay Your Bill" button and click on it.

  3. You will be directed to the secure payment portal. Enter your account number, which can be found on your water bill, and select Town of Sturgis in the billing entity drop down menu.

  4. Click pay bill.

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the payment process. Be sure to double-check all information before submitting your payment.

  6. Once the transaction is successfully completed, you will receive a confirmation receipt via email.

Customers who wish to continue to pay their bill in person or by mail will still be able to do so. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this new digital payment option and experience the convenience it offers.

Local Elementary School Students Shine Bright:

Winners of Statewide Poetry Contest

April 2023 - We are thrilled to share some remarkable news that highlights the incredible talent within our very own community. Three students from West Elementary School have emerged as winners in a highly competitive statewide poetry contest. The winning poems were submitted for the "My Town MS Poetry Competition" as part of the Mississippi Young Writers Poetry Festival held April 28 at Mississippi State University. Mississippi Poet Laureate, Catherine Pierce, hosted the festival in which three poems from each grade were selected as statewide winners. The poems depicted what they love about their town and have been included in a printed anthology of the competition. Their poetry has brought immense pride not only to their families but to our entire community.

Congratulations to our local young poets!

Fun Fact:  One of the first springtime tributes to the Civil War dead occurred in Columbus, Miss., April 25, 1866, when a group of women visited a cemetery to decorate the graves of Confederate soldiers who had fallen in battle at Shiloh.
