We hope you are enjoying a great start to 2019! It was a busy 2018 at South Shore Clutter Reduction Collaborative. Following the receipt of a CHNA 20 behavioral health grant, the towns of Hingham and Scituate Massachusetts launched several hoarding-related initiatives to serve communities throughout the South Shore.

In addition to the support of CHNA 20, the town of Scituate facilitated Buried in Treasures groups in 2018 through grant funding provided by MassHousing. We are deeply grateful for the past support of MassHousing and are excited to offer additional programming in 2019 because of our most recent grant award. These programs would not be possible without the support of CHNA 20 and MassHousing.

We're excited to share updates on new programs coming up in 2019 and a recap of South Shore Clutter Reduction Collaborative's programming efforts so far. Please read on and visit our website for more information.

2018: Pursuing a Life Less Cluttered

Our first program, Pursuing a Life Less Cluttered, welcomed experts Lee Shuer and Bec Belofsky Shuer - joined by clinician Suzanne Otte to share insights about hoarding behavior and ways to manage clutter. 2018: Group Facilitator Training

In June, Lee and Bec returned to the South Shore to present a Buried in Treasures facilitator training workshop. Seventeen people attended the three day seminar with the goal of becoming facilitators for future peer-led, community based Buried in Treasures groups. In the spirit of our CHNA 20 grant, we were thrilled contribute to the growth of a network of peer leaders who will help to expand the footprint of helping resources for people who experience hoarding behavior.

2018: Online Group Treatment

In collaboration with Dr. Jordana Muroff of Boston University School of Social Work, we launched a clinician-led online treatment group for Hoarding Disorder. Eight participants joined in July and the group began the first of its 20 weekly meetings. In December, the group wrapped up and we will be working with Boston University to publish the outcomes and successes of this treatment approach. In February, we will kickoff a new group that will meet through June 2019.
