For this book & audiobook presentation, Arianna Dagnino will be joined by Dr. Stefano Gulmanelli, who worked with her in South Africa & teaches Sociology of Identity and Sociology of Migration at the University of British Columbia. The conversation will span from intercultural relations, multiculturalism in Canada & South Africa, to the relationship between science & the notion of magic, through the eyes of an Italian writer & an Italian scholar. |

The Dante Alighieri Society of BC has been nominated Literary Presidium of the Strega Prize! The Strega Prize is the most prestigious Italian literary award. Since 1947, it honours the best work of prose fiction written in the Italian language by an author of any nationality. As a Literary Presidium of the Strega Prize, the Dante Society of BC takes part in the Dante Society's activities for the promotion of the Italian literature in the world, and can express its preference for one of the listed books being awarded the upcoming Strega Prize edition. To celebrate this nomination, we have launched our brand new Writing Club! It will work alongside our established Italian Book Club & the Dante Italian Language School.
