We recently sat down with Ginger Cearley to learn a little bit more about our sister. Here's what we found out:
A third-generation Longhorn, the decision for school on the 40 Acres might have been a given. But, Ginger joined AXiD because it was a group of women she felt an instant connection with. UT is a huge campus with more than 50,000 students. Ginger chose sorority so that she'd not get lost and lonely. AXiD was the home away from home that she was looking for. "I needed the structure and philanthropy," said Ginger. "And wanted the sisterhood and social activities." Ginger's college days were full of fun and campus activities. She grew very close to her Alpha Xi sisters and traveled with them to places like Memphis, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and spring breaks on Padre.
Those bonds of sisterhood are what keeps Ginger involved with Alpha Xi Delta. She currently serves as Membership Vice President for the Houston Alumnae.
In addition to serving our sisterhood, she is a Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, serves on the Board of Directors of the Houston Texas Exes, and is a member of the Houston Association of Lease & Title Analysts.
Ginger is an upstream energy land professional and works as a Land Technician for Australis Oil and Gas--a company with headquarters in Perth, Australia.
When she's not working or volunteering, Ginger's likely traveling. She loves traveling across the US or the globe with her mom as her best travel partner. A special travel memory was a trip to Thailand. Or, maybe you'll find Ginger in her new favorite 'Alright, Alright, Alright' UT sweatshirt, reading Matthew McConaughey's new book, "Greenlights," and hanging with her rescue poodle mix, Cookie.
Horns Up, Ginger!
