Classes via video conference are available with The Knitting Studio!  Since in-person classes are temporarily on hold for a while, machine knitting lessons will only be available online.

Easy Steps for Video Conference Classes:

1. Consider how long you would like your appointment to be.  Lessons are usually one - two hours in length.

2. Book an appointment through the Classes page.  Be sure to say what days and times work best for you along with any potential appointment dates.

3. Say where you're from!  It's important to know if there are any time differences to consider when setting up the appointment.

4. It's helpful to know what kind of machine you own, brand and model number.

5. Describe what you're hoping to learn through the session/sessions.  There's so much that knitting machines can do!

6. Have your video conference platform ready.  Before the lesson, test and make sure this is functioning before the scheduled date of the lesson.  Skype is currently the preferred method.

7. Once an appointment has been booked, a PayPal request will be sent for payment.  Payment must be completed before the lesson takes place.

To be prepared for your lesson, here are some things to have ready!

-Notebook and pen to take notes.

-Good lighting.

-A stand or table for your iPad or whichever device you're using so that you can be hands-free as well as to see the screen clearly.

-It's important to see what's happening on both ends!  Try to make sure that you'll be able to show your work/machine during the lesson.

-Various colours and weights of yarn.  Depending on what we will be working on and how your machine is operating.

-Have all of your tools at the ready.  Weights, transfer tools, cast-on combs, punchcards etc.
