A.C. Jasmin Proofreading 2019 Year In Review |
|
|
How can we possibility be saying goodbye to 2019? It's hard to believe that the year is coming to an end and that I'm wrapping up my first year in business as an editorial professional. And WOW what a year it was! Helping people to reach their goal of becoming a published author as a book coach, copy editor, or proofreader was so very rewarding! As were my other experiences with helping clients with their editorial needs. |

What I Was Up To In 2019 So many wonderful things! I want to share a few that were really special to me, and just a couple snapshots of my coffee house oat milk lattes over the year. What?! It's very dear to me! (The tea habit is usually reserved for at home where I can drink half and forget about it and reheat it all day. ;-) |

1. Of course, I started this business! I stepped out on faith and launched this editorial services company and it's been quite a year! When I first started my proofreading and copyediting was focused on assisting with marketing materials, blog posts, etc for creative entrepreneurs. Then I was hired to copy edit my first book and the rest is history! Over the course of this year I've since realized a need with my clients and I've discovered a passion come to light and I now offer book coaching. I partner with writers, primarily women executives and business owners, and coach them through their book writing process. Helping people to accomplish their dreams became pretty addicting! |

2019 Books in the books!May I introduce to you the 2019 section of my budding library. I helped these fearless writers become authors in 2019! I partnered with them as their copy editor, book coach or both; it was truly an honor helping these individuals shine. (cue the ugly cry!) Congratulations! |

2. I attended wonderful, inspiring, informational and uplifting events for women and made life changing connections and relationships! Fiercely Feminine 2019 In March of this year I attended this event by Kimberly Joy Morgan. Fiercely Feminine taught me that we all have a story to tell and it's worth telling! Own your story and share it. Someone is waiting to learn from you! Uniquely Qualified 2019 I attended this event in Charlotte, NC in October after attending two other locations in 2018. I started to volunteer with them because the movement was contagious! Uniquely Qualified taught me all about being just that, already qualified to do the work that sets my soul on fire. We are all Uniquely Qualified by God to do whatever we dream of doing. Chase your dreams without fear! |

3. I was a part of teams and work that made a real difference in our community! (Check out more photos of the events throughout the year on my Instagram page.) - My work with The Sandbox was so fulfilling. The Sandbox serves families with cancer, rare, life-altering or terminal illness. The families in the The Sandbox leave an imprint on your heart forever. It's a gift to be able to be involved in serving them. I assisted with many events throughout the year to serve the families and with The Sandbox Ordinary Angels program which highlights people in the community that selflessly and humbly serve. It was all so very good for the soul.
- My work with Graves Realty Group provided opportunities to be a part of a company that LOVES giving back to our community. Their motto is "Commitment Beyond Sold" and it shows. They give back almost every single month with a community service project! I was grateful to be along for the ride to highlight all that they do through their newsletter, blogs and sometimes as photographer at events.
- As copy editor for Modestly Bold Magazine I shared in a true sisterhood with the Editor in Chief with constant encouragement and support for each other. The magazine is a labor of love that spotlights entrepreneurs and community leaders that are making an impact in the world. I was honored to help bring this quarterly magazine to light.

4. I turned 40 years old! This was so monumental for me! With 40 so much happens: clarity, boldness, sureness, the ability to walk away from things (and people) that just "aren't right," a trust of your intuition that maybe you didn't have when younger, simply put . . . a lot of "life" things now make sense. I'm embracing it all! Hello, Chapter Forty! |
