Congratulations to Lafayette's First Robotics Competition Team 3616 for winning the For Inspirations and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Impact Award at the 2023 Bayou Regional Robotics Tournament. This event held March 30 – April 1, 2023 in Kenner, LA . The FRC Team 3616 is a community team created in 2011, with the team's mission being not just about building robots, but also building future innovators in the community. |

Community Resource Fair Lerosen Preparatory Academy held its first Community Resource Fair. The event was held March 30, 2023 at the Girard Park Recreational Center. This year's fair was themed "It Takes a Village" and hosted over 40 vendors and exhibitors including The Region 4 STEM Network Center. |

LIGO Professional Development Workshop for Teachers LaSTEM and LIGO are offering a 5-day hands-on training for middle and high school science teachers on light and lasers (L), how interference (I) conveys information, how gravity (G) rules the universe, and how our observatories (O) try to figure out what the universe is trying to tell us. Participants will receive a LIGO material kit, stipend, and funding support for field trips.
