School students are invited to join us in Bondi for a hands on, informative excursion on Friday, March 11, 2022. Students will meet marine scientists, learn about cool ocean restoration projects, participate in workshops, see student created Litter Art and enjoy amazing ocean science. Shoot The Coast 

Amateur photographers with a passion for the coast can now enter Waverley Council's 'Love the Coast' photo competition to win wonderful prizes. The competition has two categories - Living Connections and Natural Landscape - entries open up to 21 January 2022 so get snapping and you might see your picture showcased at our March festival.

Norman Needs You

'Saving Norman' is a new campaign to protect Bondi's population of critically endangered grey nurse sharks. Norman is the affectionate name given by local photographer DroneSharkApp to the harmless grey nurse sharks encountered in Bondi. Norman needs your voice to replace Waverley shark nets with non-lethal alternatives. Council supports this solution so find our more and sign the petition here.

Sydney Harbour Gets Wild

You can join some new citizen scientists by snapping wildlife pics for Wild Sydney Harbour, a new project launched by festival ambassador and marine expert Dr Vanessa Pirotta. Wild Sydney Harbour will help scientists gain a better understanding of the habits and movements of the animals who live in our beautiful Sydney Harbour. If you see something while you're on or around the Harbour snap a pic and post it on instagram with #wildsydneyharbour or email the pic to wildsydneyharbour@gmail.com and be an ocean loving champion.

Blair Embarks For Record

Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival Ambassador Lisa Blair has started the route to her second solo sailing world record attempt around Antarctica. Lisa embarked this month from Brisbane to Perth to start her Antarctica attempt to break her current world record. She has equipped her yacht, named 'Climate Action Now', to collect precious data in that remote ocean.
