MOIA celebrated St. Brigid's Day with the Consulate General of Ireland in Atlanta and Irish Network Atlanta. Helen McEntee, Ireland's Minister for Justice, opened the event with welcoming remarks, followed by a discussion with Ciara O'Floinn, Consul General of Ireland in Atlanta, Vanessa Ibarra, MOIA Director, and Sarah Keane, Vice Consul of Ireland in Atlanta. The women spoke on their personal and professional experiences of empowerment, the importance of mentorship, and ways to support women locally and beyond in 2021. |

MOIA and UPS hosts first two sessions of Women Export University |

The 26 female entrepreneurs of the 2021 cohort began Women Export University with their first two sessions. The first session started with guest speaker, Mary Waters, Deputy Commissioner for International Trade from the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and covered the topics of global e-commerce and exporting with UPS. During the second session, the cohort was introduced to the exporting process and discussed tariffs and trade regulations that impact exports. |

The multi-institutional Race Beyond Borders initiative recently launched with an event that offered a foundation on establishing terminology and language around race and how concepts of race are constructed across the world.
