I took this photo on January 1, 2024, allowing myself to feel a sense of reset and considering the idea of marking a walk in nature every day of the new year by taking a photo. I decided against the pressure of that idea, but have enjoyed January as a recharge, being very intentional about taking care of myself physically and mentally. And just like that, it's February, which represents some of the ideas that many of us think about year round anyway - Black History and... Love. I've been thinking about fully loving ourselves, and how despite all the motivational quotes and advice, it's something that can be a process and take time and how we realize we didn't even know what that really meant until we got there. Some of us may look back and wish we could have shown up differently for ourselves at times. I've realized that we get there one day at a time. One day we look and see how far we've come and realize it was through making small changes, making different small choices, trying something we didn't think we were strong or brave enough to do. I believe that we really do need to fully love who we are before we can fully love others.
While we plan for more open hours soon, here's what's going on in the space in February. Come in to visit during weekend afternoons, order yourself some tea and stay a while.
