Ciao Wellness Friend,
I hope this e-mail finds you safe and well.
With Thanksgiving this week, I want to take the opportunity to express my gratitude for your support in reading and sharing my Wellness Wednesday newsletter. It has been a joy and honor to share with you tips and tricks for living a healthier lifestyle. Collectively, we inspire those around us to lead healthier lives!
In true holiday spirit, we have been experimenting with new recipes for Thanksgiving and for the colder Autumn/Winter months and have found delicious alternatives to the sugar and fat laden ones - without sacrificing taste!
Green Bean Casserole - we used cashew nuts instead of heavy cream and could barely taste the difference. Check out this video where Florencia (Founder and Chef at Tribusana Revolution) shows us how to make the healthiest and most nutrient dense béchamel.
The Perfect Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies - we skipped the sugar and sweetened with dates and apple sauce. This recipe is on my Blog!
Turkey Broth with Cappelletti - at a Friendsgiving celebration, Florencia, shared with us how she turns the Thanksgiving Turkey remains into a delectable broth! Never again will we throw away the turkey bones.
Unless you want to make the cappelletti from scratch, you can simply bring the broth to a boil and place store-bought cappelletti to cook for 2-3 mins. Delicious!
One of my favorite Aesop's fables is that of The Tortoise and the Hare, and during the Holiday season we can use the metaphor in this story to approach and decide which recipes to use in our festivities. Slowly, but surely we can introduce healthier options that our waist and our health will appreciate for years to come.
