- The Our Place garden site was cleaned. Ladies from Crossroads graciously donated their time on March 1st to help some of our board and staff members clean up trash that had collected on the site over the winter.
- Site preparation began! On March 2nd, grading began. Grading is the first step in site preparation and paves the way for irrigation, bed construction, and planting.
- Electricity plans are finalized. Over the last month, we finalized the layout and plans for powering the Our Place garden with NV Energy.
- We are searching for an irrigation supplier. We continue to search for an irrigation supplier that has the materials we need to order for our irrigation plan. If you know of a supplier with in-stock materials, please let us know.

Tips & Tricks on How to Be a More Successful Gardener |
|
|
We believe everyone should know how to grow their own food, and we want to share what we know. March is the beginning of our planting season. One of our favorite natural resources to use in the garden is compost. Compost helps the soil retain moisture and provides plants with important nutrients. You can buy compost or make your own. We do both- upcycling leaves and yard debris from our garden sites and incorporating additional amendments from our friends at Full Circle Compost. Want to learn more? Check out this quick 3-minute video from Joe GardenerTV to learn more about how to incorporate compost into your home garden. |
