Happy April, Foolish or Otherwise!
I'm sharing some news about The Drowning Sea (out on 6/21/22!) this month and giving you the details of some preorder incentives I'm offering. As you probably know, preorders are really important for the authors you like to read, because they show early interest and demonstrate support. If you are planning on reading The Drowning Sea, I humbly ask you to consider preordering from your favorite bookseller or asking your library to preorder for their collection! Details below!
I'm gearing up for a lot of book-related travel this month and also (still) working hard on Maggie D'arcy #4. I'm at the point in the writing process where I have a draft of the novel and all of the scaffolding is in place. Now I'm going back through and adding character detail, further developing plot points, and making sure it all makes sense. This is my favorite part of writing and I'm trying to really enjoy settling in with Maggie, Lilly, Conor and their friends and family. They're in Dublin this time around and I'm really excited about this book, which has a missing child, a fashion model, and nefarious goings-on in and around the Grand Canal. See below for some photo inspiration.
I've been reading quite a lot too. Recent reads include Tony Birch's The White Girl, which was a beautiful and heartbreaking novel set in Australia, and Donna Leon's latest Guido Brunetti mystery, Give unto Others. This month's recipe is one of Brunetti's favorites.
Once again this month, I hope for peace and safety for all the people of the world. See you in May.
